Introducing Ubiquity

Ping.fm

Ping.fm script for Ubiquity
This is a script for the Ubiquity Firefox extension that introduces a command allowing you to make posts to ping.fm.

If you have Ubiquity installed and you have not added (or "subscribed to") this script, you should see a banner at the top of this page inviting you to do so. This will install several new commands, but before you can use them to post to Ping.fm, you must first invoke the "set ping key" command, passing it your Ping.fm app key. This uniquely identifies your Ping.fm account, and can be found at http://ping.fm/key. Note that you need only call this command once. (Unless you wish to change to a different Ping.fm account.)

Once you have set your app key, you can make posts to your default services by invoking Ubiquity and typing "ping", then the content of your post. There are also commands for posting to specific types of service: "ping blog", "ping microblog" and "ping status". Note that the "ping blog" command takes the form "ping blog post text as post title"

Examples

set ping key 12345 (Sets 12345 as your Ping.fm application key.)
ping Hello World (Posts "Hello World" to your default services.)
ping status Eating lunch(Posts "Eating lunch" as a status update.)
ping blog is awesome! as Ubiquity (Sends a blog post with title "Ubiquity" and content "is awesome!")
ping @tt Going down the pub. (Posts "Going down the pub." to Twitter only.)
latest pings (Displays your last five Ping.fm posts in the Ubiquity preview.)
